Arguably the first superbike was the CB750 built in the 1970's. Featuring a five-speed gearbox, disc front brakes and an electric starter, Japanese motorcycles carried these additions as standard even on the 125cc's. From the 70's onward the bike has evolved into a fully faired luxury cruiser with luggage compartments, radio, air conditioning, cruise control and a 1832cc engine. Despite its size, it is a smooth and responsive ride.
