Ducati :

Ducati began as a family run company. Originally, it was not a motorcycle manufacturer though migrated to producing clip-on engines for bicycles - from there, the rest is history. Benelli :

Another family company with Italian origins is Benelli. Their evolution as a company is similar to many - started small, initially successful, conflict with Japanese 4 cylinder models and several corporate takeovers. Today the company is based in China and produces the successful Tornado Tre 900 and TNT 1130.

MV Agusta :

Mv Agusta motorcycles are heavily influenced by the technology of the aircraft industry and were refined by racing. As with others, competition from Japan stopped production.
